Gabi celebrated his second halloween as a lion. La compact spent hours working with gabi on his ROAR, but when Saba Bill asked him "what does a lion say?", Gabs just looked at him and casually said "roar." Everyone knows that.

Emily's aunt gave Gabs an armchair with a picture of Spiderman on it. In the beggining, Gabi didn't really give it any attention. But then something clicked, and the little one adopted an almost all too natural Archie Bunker like disposition. And now, he takes the phone, stands with his back to the chair, and starts walking backwards until he reaches the chair, allowing gravity to do its thing. Gabi's been active on the museum scene. Two weeks ago, Gabs and LaCompact came with me on a business trip to Boston, and visited the children's museum. And last wknd we took Ninja Boy to the acqurium, where he pet a sting ray and tried communicating with seals. It was a one sided conversation

Gabi is talking non stop. He reads himself stories, he speaks to the spirits of the phone - though for some reason zips up the second there's someone speaking on the line - and he animates Kofiko, his trusted and hairy side-kick. Below are two videos to bring things to life.
צר לי על ההפסקה הארוכה. בחודשיים האחרונים גבי חגג יום הולדת שנה והתחיל ללכת. למותר לציין, לי ולקומפקטית אין הרבה זמן - אבל אני מבטיח להיות יותר עיקבי. איך שלא, גבי התחיל ללכת בערך עשרה ימים לפני יום ההולדת שלו, ובתוך שבוע ויתר לחלוטין על הזחילה. הוא גם התחיל לברבר כמו מטורף ועד כמה שהייתי רוצה שהמילה הראשונה שלו תהיה אבא - או אפילו אינדיקציה לאיזו גאונות ניחבת, נגיד אם היה אומר אכזיסטנציאליזם או משהו שכזה - המילה הראשונה שלו היתה....בננה, או למען הדיוק, "ננה" תוך הצבעה נלהבת על הפרי עצמו. מצורפות כמה תמונות, של גבי ביום ההולדת שלו ושל גבי לוקח צעדים ראשונים. וידאו יותר מוצלח של האדון איש פוסע בקרוב.
I'm so sorry for the long break. In the past two months, Gabi celebrated his one year birthday and started walking. Needless to say, la compact and I have very little time - but I do promise to be more active with updates. So, Gabs started walking about 10 days before his birthday, and within one week had completely given up crawling. He also started babbling like crazy, and as much as I would have liked his first word to be Aba (daddy in Hebrew), or even some kind of indication of a hidden genius - if, for example, he had said Existentialism or something like that - but his first word was banana, or, to be exact, nana, while pointing at the fruit itself. Attached are some pics and a video of Gabi from his birthday and of Gabi taking his first steps. A better video of Gabi walking is on its way.

שתי תמונות מעודכנות של גבי. אחת בבית, עם הכדור הכחול, והשנייה במוזיאון התחבורה. גבי גדל בקצב מסחרר. הוא עומד, מנסה ללכת, מצביע, מתרגז כשלוקחים ממנו משהו, צוחק - לרוב מחוץ לקונטקסט אבל מה נעשה - מנופנף לשלום - גם פה, לרוב מחוץ לקונטקסט - מוחא כפיים, מחזיר כדור, קורא ספר בהפוכה, בוחר ספר מערימה.....הוא מדהים.

He stands, trys to walk, points, gets annoyed when you take something from him, laughs - typically out of context, but hey - waves goodbye - also out of context - claps his hands, returns a balls, reads a book upside down, pics a book out of a pile... he's amazing.
