המקלחת של האמיליונת הרעיפה עלינו גשם זלעפות של מוצרי מדיה לתינוקות: בייבי איינשטיין, דוקטור סוס וכו. לזה צריך להוסיף את שלל הספרים והדי.וי.די שאני קניתי בביקור האחרון בארץ, כולל איה פלוטו ודירה להשכיר - יצירות מופת, אחת אחת. אז עכשיו יש לנו המון מדיה לתינוקי, מספיק למלא שני מדפים. שני מדפים של יצירות מופת, אחת אחת.

רוב הספרים הם דברים שאני ואמלי קראנו כילדים. אבל מה אם תוכניות הטלוויזיה שראינו? קבלו את יו-טוב. התוכנית האהובה על לה קומפקט המתבגרת היתה גן הקסמים, ומספיק 20 שניות ממנה כדי להבין את החיבה התמוהה משהו של אמילי לדר וויליאמס ואנני דיפרנקו. אני לא ממש חושב שהיתה לי סידרה אהובה כילד, אבל ישר התחלתי לחפש פרקים של קישקשתא. ואני עדיין מנסה לקשר בין קישקשתא לבין חוסר החיבה שלי לדר וויליאמס. קליפים מייד אחרי הטקסט באנגלית...

The shower left puddles of baby media: Baby Einstein videos, Dr. Seuss Books, etc. Add to this the fact that during my last visit home in December, I picked up several Israeli books and videos, including Aye Pluto (Where's Pluto) and Dira le-Haskir (Apartment to Rent), etc. Classics, all of them. So now we got a lot, about 2 shelves worth of classics, all of them.

Many of the books are things Emilionette and I grew up on. But what about all those great TV shows we watched as kids? Enter YouTube. La Compact's favorite TV show as a kid was Magic Garden. Check it out. It actually explains her love for all thing Dar Williams and Ani Difranco. I don't know if I had a favorite per se growing up, but I immediately searched for a show called Kishkashta (kishkush in hebrew=jumbled/scribbled), that featured a cactus hand puppet. I'm still trying to figure out how this may explain my dislike of Dar Williams.
